The right to suffrage is enshrined in the Philippine Constitution. As such, it should be the policy of the State to allow maximum participation in elections through all means possible. However, the registration period limit set by the Commission on Elections on October 31, 2012 will unequivocally disenfranchise many of our fellowmen, stripping them of their right to participation in one of the few remaining democratic practices in the country. 

Hence, Kabataan Partylist took upon itself the responsibility of petitioning the Supreme Court for redress.
