Kabataan Party-list Rep. Raymond ‘Mong’ Palatino today called the Supreme Court decision on the Hacienda Luisita case a “grave injustice” to the farmers of the Cojuanco’s 6,443-hectare sugar estate in Tarlac.
“Instead of decisively ordering the distribution of land among the farmers, the Supreme Court reintroduced the Stock Distribution Option (SDO) as a viable alternative in the referendum. I find this preposterous especially after the Supreme Court revoked the SDO. The decision is a grave injustice to the farmers of the blood-stained hacienda of President Aquino’s family,” Palatino said.
