For almost three months, we have gone to every corner of our nation and cyberspace to explain why WE, the youth, should elect OUR representatives in Congress and in the Senate. Despite the harassment and black propaganda from various forces who are against change, we have been successful in spreading our message of new politics to many of our kababayans.
Now its time for one last collective shout to let all Filipinos know that we are voting for a better future and that we want them to vote with us. Let …

According to a recent study by the IBON Foundation, 7 out of every 10 graduates this year will be jobless. As a result of the lack of jobs in the past years, they will be competing against unemployed graduates from previous years.
Those fortunate enough to land jobs have their own “horror stories” to tell: work that is unrelated to their field of study, lack of job security and benefits, unhealthy working conditions, etc.
Many of us have joined the millions of Filipinos who have left their families and their homeland to …

Yesterday’s Blog Action Day, in tandem with the National Day of Education, was a very fruitful one, as symbolized by the freeing of the “PUP 5″.
Not only did the PUP Administration drop the criminal charges against the five student leaders, the PUP Board of Regents also passed a resolution disapproving any tuition and other fee increases for the next school year.
Many also participated in the Blog Action Day by posting our official status message
Everyone has the right to a quality and accessible education. If you agree, please post this as …

This week was marked by several student actions that successfully prevented moves to make education less accessible. Among the policies that were either delayed or prevented are:

an almost-2000% tuition hike in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines
approval of tuition hike proposals in most of the 233 private schools that violated consultation guidelines

However, many issues continue to affect the Filipino youth’s right to a quality and accessible education, such as the continued implementation of forced graduation fees, and the ‘no permit, no exam’ policy, as well as tuition and other fee …

Twenty four years ago, our people toppled a tyrant.    On February 25, 2010 let us re-tell their stories.
On Thursday, we are enjoining all young Filipinos to blog about the stories of the real heroes of EDSA: our parents, grandparents, ates and kuyas, titos and titas, ninong and ninangs.
We may have been too young then or were not even born yet, but we can ask them to recount their tales of real-life heroism to us. What prompted them to join the uprising? What were their thoughts and feelings? What did …

Greetings!
The latest Pulse Asia survey shows that seven out of ten Filipinos lack knowledge about the AES (Automated Election System) and the partylist system.
This is bothersome: should this hold true on Election Day, it will mean millions will be unable to vote, or have their votes invalidated, simply because of their lack of information. This is a serious blow to our efforts to advance the new politics of change for the 2010 elections.
KABATAAN Partylist is calling on all young …
