Kabataan Partylist Rep. Raymond Palatino today slammed the rumored appointment of former Akbayan Partylist Representative Etta Rosales as chair of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), calling it an “insult” and a “provocation to spark animosity” between the left and Noynoy Aquino’s government.
“Is there no one else he can choose to be the next human rights chair? Why appoint someone who is known to be antagonistic with the Left? Is Noynoy really serious in addressing extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances?” said Palatino.

With the barangay elections set on October 25, Kabataan Partylist Rep. Raymond Palatino expressed the need to strengthen the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) as the basic local unit of government of the youth.

Youth solon files anti “no permit, no exam policy” bill anew

In its commitment to push for accessible education, Kabataan Partylist yesterday filed House Bill No. 807 or the Anti “No Permit, No Exam Policy” Act of 2010 in time for the opening of the 15th Congress.

HB 807 is a refined version of a similar bill, HB 6799, which the youth solon filed last 14th Congress.
