Kabataan Party-list Representative Mong Palatino today urged the Department of Education (DepEd) to address the ‘no permit, no exam’ policy in basic and secondary schools in the country.
In a letter sent to the DepEd Secretary Jesli Lapus, Palatino said that parents of elementary and high school students are also complaining of the implementation of a ‘no permit, no exam’ policy in private elementary and high schools.

CHED issues memo order to school administrations
Kabataan Party-list Representative Mong Palatino today commended the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) for the issuance of CHEd Memorandum Order (CMO) 02 series of 2010, directing Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to be flexible in the implementation of ‘no permit, no exam’ policy. As the nation commemorates the ninth 9th anniversary of EDSA People Power 2, Kabataan Party-list Representative Mong Palatino appealed to the Filipino youth to preserve and relive the legacy of People Power.

Bill will not resolve hacking of gov’t websites
Kabataan Party-list Rep. Mong Palatino today called on the House of Representatives to re-evaluate and stop the passing of the HB 6974 CyberCrime Prevention Act of 2009 which is up for third reading when session resumes.

Partylist files manifestation at SC
Kabataan Partylist, the largest youth party in the country, today filed a manifestation at the Supreme Court (SC) directing the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to ensure that new voters who registered during the “extended” registration period would be able to vote during the May 2010 elections.
Kabataan Party-list Representative Mong Palatino said the poll body’s decision not to print the exact number of ballots for the 2010 polls is a “deliberate act to disenfranchise the additional registrants during the special registration period.”

The worst of it might be over but the residents near Mayon Volcano still need our help.
After lowering the Mayon alert to level 3, most of the more than 47,000 individuals in the evacuation centers have now been sent home. However, their lives and livelihood have been affected badly by the recent activity of Mayon and they need our help to recover.
Also, hundreds still remain in overcrowded evacuation centers and poor communities needing
foodstuff,
mats/beddings,
drinking water,
hygiene kits and medicines.
