Lower cost of SMS, MMS; Make texting more convenient for relief, rescue efforts
KABATAAN Representative Raymond “Mong” Palatino today urged Congress to bury all text tax proposals once and for all as a “new” text tax bill was introduced by text tax proponents in the House Committee level early this morning.

Last October 4, hundreds of Tulong KABATAAN volunteers went to San Miguel, Pasig and Damca in Sta. Mesa to deliver relief goods to the residents of the communities which were affected by Typhoon Ondoy.
Again, we thank our donors and our volunteers who made these activities a success.

In light of the suspension of voters registration in towns and cities affected by Typhoon Ondoy, Kabataan Representative Raymond “Mong” Palatino today once again urged the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to extend the registration of new voters for the 2010 elections.

Public schools and state universities hit by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng should receive funding for rehabilitation of classrooms and restoration of school equipment, Kabataan Representative Raymond “Mong” Palatino today said.

Campus clean-ups, intensified youth volunteer work to mark resumption of classes
Classes resume Monday but students and schools affected by Ondoy may not have the materials and resources to begin again.
Tulong Kabataan, a youth network of volunteers, is calling for urgent donations of school supplies such as notebooks, pencils and ballpens, school bags, old uniforms, and even chalk, paper and blackboard erasers for students and schools devastated by heavy rains and floods.
Textbooks, educational materials and other school paraphernalia are also most welcome.
